Miss LSUE Crowned at Pageant

Kayla Armstrong, a 19 year-old sophomore at LSU at Eunice was named Miss LSUE at the school’s annual pageant held Sunday in the Health Technology Auditorium on the LSUE Campus.

Armstrong is a pre-med major from Denham Springs and is a member of the Lady Bengal basketball team and was recently named a pre-season All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association. She was second runner-up at the 2006 Miss LSUE pageant.

Armstrong will replace her fellow teammate and room mate as Queen. Natalie Engler of Walker was crowned Miss LSUE in 2006.

Rounding out the top five were first runner-up Ashley Pourciau, a 19 year-old sophomore from Church Point; second runner-up Gabrielle Deloach, an 18 year-old freshman from Ville Platte; third runner-up Coleen Toussaint, an 18 year-old sophomore from Ville Platte; and fourth runner-up Allison Reed, a freshman from Ville Platte.

Brittany Thibodeaux from Ville Platte was named Miss Congeniality.

The Miss LSUE is sponsored each year by the LSUE Student Government Association.
