Commencement Set for 3 p.m. Friday, December 21

Dorothy Reese, a member of the LSU Board of Supervisors will be the commencement speaker when Louisiana State University at Eunice holds fall graduation ceremonies at 3 p.m. Friday, December 21, in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building. Reese, LCSW, MPH, CDP is a Partner in the firm of DMM & Associates, a Performance Management Consulting Company. She has over 30 years of clinical, administrative, teaching and consulting experience in health care and in the public, private and non- profit sectors with expertise in diversity management, leadership development and change management.
She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Pomona College of the Claremont Colleges, Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health degrees from Tulane University. Reese completed an Executive Program in Diversity Management from Cornell University in New York and is certified in diversity management. She is a licensed clinical Social Worker, and is also certified as a mediator in workplace disputes by the Justice Center of Atlanta Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia.
Some of her numerous awards and recognitions include the Dorothy Schenthal Leadership Award for the New Orleans Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, New Orleans Medical Association Excellence in Health Care, Humanitarian and Community Service Award, Data News Trailblazer Award, Susan G. Komen Foundation Cameo Award For Distinguished Leadership and Outstanding Service, Louisiana Health Care Social Worker of the Year, Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Service as an Influential Woman, City of New Orleans and YWCA Role Model .
Reese currently serves on the Louisiana State University Board of Supervisors where she chairs the Academic and Student Affairs Committee, the LSU System Human Resources Advisory Work Group, and the LSU System Diversity Work Group. She is a member of the Human Relations Commission for the City of New Orleans, the Board of Directors of New Orleans Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and an Associate Member of the Sugar Bowl Committee. Reese is also on the faculty of Cornell University Diversity Management Program in New York. She is married to Judge Kern Reese and the mother of Justin and Jared Reese.
Some 100 students are candidates for graduation. Included are students who completed degree requirements during the summer as well as fall semester graduates.
LSUE offers associate degrees in liberal arts, science, computer information technology, criminal justice, early childhood education, fire science, general studies, management, nursing, office information technology, paralegal studies, radiologic technology, and respiratory care, as well as certificates in arson investigation, fire science, and office procedures.
