Commencement set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17

EUNICE – Senator Nick Gautreaux, will be the commencement speaker when Louisiana State University at Eunice holds spring graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building.

Gautreaux is currently serving his second term in the Louisiana State Senate where he is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, the Judiciary A Committee, the Natural Resources Committee, and the Commerce, Consumer Protection, and International Affairs Committee.

He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Coastal Restoration and Flood Control and is a member of the Select Committee on Consumer Affairs and Technology.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana - Lafayette and is active in the Acadiana community, serving as a youth sports counselor and church volunteer.

Some 158 students are candidates for graduation.

LSUE offers associate degrees in liberal arts, science, computer information technology, criminal justice, early childhood education, fire science, general studies, management, nursing, office information technology, paralegal studies, radiologic technology, and respiratory care, as well as certificates in arson investigation, fire science, and office procedures.
