LSU Eunice Commencement Set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16

EUNICE – Benjamin Mount, a member of the LSU Board of Supervisors and an attorney in Lake Charles will be the commencement speaker when Louisiana State University Eunice holds spring graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building. Mount is a partner in the law firm of Bergstedt and Mount in Lakes Charles and is a member-at-large of the LSU System’s Board of Supervisors.
Mount is married to the former Willie Landry and earned his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University and his jurist doctorate from LSU in 1974.
He is a member of the Southwest Louisiana Bar and the state Bar Associations. He has served as president of the Calcasieu Kiwanis Club and is currently a member of the board of trustees for Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lake Charles. Mount has also served on numerous other boards in the Lake Charles area, including the Calcasieu Arts Council, The Louisiana Preservation Alliance, and the League of Women Voters.
Some 160 students are candidates for graduation. Included are students who completed degree requirements during the spring semester.
LSU Eunice offers associate degrees in liberal arts, science, computer information technology, criminal justice, the care and development of young children, fire science, general studies, management, nursing, office information technology, paralegal studies, diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, and respiratory care, as well as certificates in arson investigation, fire science, and office procedures.
