Summer Enrichment for Youth Classes Set at LSU Eunice

EUNICE – Summer enrichment classes for children from ages 3 through 16 will be offered by LSU Eunice, with some classes starting as early as June 8.

Classes are scheduled at various age levels in swimming, art, hunting and science.

Beginning swimming for all grade levels will meet June 9-26 in two sections, 8 - 8:50 a.m. and 9 - 9:50 a.m. An intermediate swimming class is scheduled for 10 - 10:50 a.m. on the same dates. The fee is $60.

LSU Eunice will also offer courses on art. Students will create art projects for their appropriate age level. The course is open to students grades K-3 and will meet Monday through Thursday, June 22 - 25. The cost of the course is $35 with a $5 supply fee due the first day of class.

In Creative Movement Camp, students will learn a story and a song each day, and create crafts related to that day’s story. The course is open to students in kindergarten through second grade and will meet Monday through Thursdays, June 22-25. Cost of the course is $45 with a $5 supply fee due the first day of class.

In Science Fun Camp I, students learn science through fun, hands-on inquiry-based investigations. The course is open to students in grades 1 - 3 and will meet June 22 – 26 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Cost of the course is $45 with a $5 supply fee due the first day of class.

Science Fun Camp II, for students in grades 4-6, will be June 22-26 at 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Cost of the course is $45 with a $5 supply fee due the first day of class. The course is open to students in grades 1 - 3 and will meet June 22 – 26 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Cost of the course is $45 with a $5 supply fee due the first day of class.


A camp for students in grades 1-4, entitled Treasure Map Camp, will teach students how to read and create maps. The course will meet June 8 – 10 at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Cost of the course is $30 with a $3 supply fee due the first day of class.

LSU Eunice will also offer White Tail Deer Hunting for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 15. The students will learn about deer biology, hunting techniques and safety. The class will take a field trip to the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area. Cost of the course is $60 per child or $90 for child and parent. The course will run Mondays, June 8, 15, and 22 between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
