LSU Eunice sets orientation, registration sessions for fall semester
-

New students who plan to enroll in Louisiana State University Eunice this fall can attend orientation and take part in registration on July 16, August 7 or 19.

Orientation is from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To participate, prospective students must first apply for admission. LSUE's web site, www.lsue.edu, includes an online application, or students may request an application by phoning the Admissions Office, 550-1305.

New students are required to attend an orientation session before they register for classes. Once they apply for admission, they will receive details about signing up for orientation.

To make the process more convenient for students, registration is now a part of orientation with all services centralized in the Acadian Center. Once students meet with their faculty advisers, they can also go online to enroll in courses through the myLSUE web-based registration system.

Students who have already registered for classes must pay their fees by July 31 or their class schedules will be cancelled and they will have to re-enroll in classes.

Weekday classes begin Monday, Aug. 24.

Students planning to enroll at LSU Eunice can take the American College Test at 8 a.m. Aug. 4. This special test is intended only for students planning to attend LSU Eunice. The scores from the tests are used for class placement. The test results cannot be used to establish eligibility for the state's TOPS scholarship program.

The fee for this special ACT test is $30, payable at the Business Office window in the Science Building immediately before the test starts.

The test will be given in the Acadian Center. Test-takers will need a picture ID such as a driver's license. They can bring a calculator for the math portion of the test.

LSU Eunice also offers a variety of classes in which most instruction is available over the Internet with a limited number of on-campus class meetings held Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Contact the Continuing Education Office for details.

Persons who want fall class schedules or application forms should contact the Admissions Office, toll free 1-888-367-5783, ext. 305, or locally 550-1305. LSU Eunice's Internet site, www.lsue.edu, has class schedules and further registration details.

Bengal Village, an on-campus student apartment complex, is leasing units for the fall semester. For details, phone 550-7800 or go to www.campushousing.com/lsue.
